Yirmiyahu studied at high school in Eperjes (Prešov). In 1937 he joined the movement. In February 1943 Yirmiyahu ran away from Slovakia and moved to Budapest. After the German invasion of Hungary on 19.3.1944, he returned to Slovakia. In Bratislava Yirmiyahu worked in a shop where he was the coordinator of the “Hashomer Hatzair” underground.
He was caught in December 1944 but managed to escape in a daring operation. He was caught again and again escaped. Yirmiyahu joined the partisans under the leadership of Zhdanov, a Soviet. He worked in intelligence and sabotage.
After the war Yirmiyahu returned to Hungary on 1.4.1945 and took part in the revival of the movement. He was the instructor of a group of children in the movement’s children’s house in Békéscsaba.
Yirmiyahu was one of the founders of the “Ehad-BeMay” garin and of Kibbutz Ga’aton. He worked as a driver, a farmer, the kibbutz farm coordinator and a bookkeeper. He died in Kibbutz Ga’aton.
